Captain Floyd started his career as a Patrol officer at APD in 2000. In his eighteen year tenure at APD, Captain Floyd has served as a Field Training Officer, Marine Patrol Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Detective on the Skagit County Interlocal Drug Enforcement Unit (SCIDEU), and for the past six years, Patrol Sergeant also serving as Canine Program Coordinator, and Bike Patrol Coordinator.
Captain Floyd was promoted to Administrative Captain in February 2018. In that capacity, he oversees the Administrative Division of APD which includes APD Training, Professional Standards Accreditation, and Special Investigations. Captain Floyd has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degree in Public Affairs from Washington State University. He was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington.
