[ARCHIVED] 2nd Draft of the Development Regulations Update Available

The 2nd draft of the proposed updates to the Development Regulations has been released for review and comment.  A link to the document is provided on the project website.

The 2nd draft reflects significant updates that improve clarity, usability, and navigation for all code users. Many public comments provided crucial feedback and helpful guidance. Key changes have been a reorganization of the land use and form provisions in Division 4, updated streetscape and lot design standards in Division 5, and more details for many project design elements like temporary signs in Division 6. However, this is still very much a draft and we encourage community members to submit comments on the draft so that it can be clarified and improved to best fit the community's needs.

Note that page 2 of the draft includes clarifications on how we’ve tracked changes since the first draft. We’ve also included special NOTES TO REVIEWERS for key updates.

Additional documents related to the 2nd draft are forthcoming - including a summary of comments received to date and responses.

Also, a joint meeting with the Planning Commission and City Council has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 6pm at City Hall Council Chambers.  An introduction to the 2nd draft will be provided as part of kicking off the review and adoption process.

In closing, we would like to say a huge thank you to all those community members who have given their time to review and comment on the 1st draft.  The comments have been invaluable in the development of the 2nd draft and we look forward to hearing more from you to help further refine the document.
