Paul Revere Williams house finishes construction (1929)
Friday, July 1, 2022
One of Anacortes’ most iconic houses finished construction today in 1929, created by one of America's most iconic architects. The “Jackie Robinson of architecture,” Paul Revere Williams was the first black member of the American Institute of Architects and the designer of Luther Barrick’s house on Cap Sante. Williams built homes for many high profile figures, including Frank Sinatra and Lucille Ball. Barrick’s house is Williams’ only work in Washington state, as the architect mainly focused on Southern California as his place of operations.
