Friends of the Library Spring Art Exhibit

Friends of the Anacortes Public Library’s Art Committee will host a 3-month exhibit of works created by local artists, to be held in the Friends Community Meeting Room. The intention of the exhibit is to feature local art, to enhance the appearance of the meeting room, and to benefit from art sales. Hours for public viewing are: 

  • Wednesdays 1:00-2:00pm
    • March 6 & 20
    • April 3 & 17
    • May 1, 15 & 29
  • Saturdays 1:00-2:00pm
    • March 2 & 16
    • April 6 & 20
    • May 4 & 18
  •  Sundays 2:00-3:00pm
    • March 17 
    • April 21
    • May 19

An Artists’ Reception will be held in the Friends Community Meeting Room on Sunday, March 3, at 2:00. The public is invited to meet the local artists and to view their pieces, which were selected from submissions for this exhibit. All art works are for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Friends of the Library. Refreshments will be served.

About the Friends

The Friends of the Library has been in service to the Anacortes Library since 1969. The FriendShop bookstore offers gently used books, CDs and movies for sale, at modest prices. Located in the foyer of the Library, the FriendShop sells donated items with all the proceeds earmarked for the purchase of books, children's programs, and other library related items.

The store is staffed by volunteers. You are invited you to come in and browse. Please call FriendShop Manager Beverly Reed, 360-293-4149, for more information.
