The Microsoft Imagine Academy offers an incredible range of official Microsoft online courses and learning resources covering subjects from digital literacy (how to use a computer) to Microsoft Office business skills, advanced networking, and programming skills.

Digital Literacy

New to computers? Get started right away at Digital Literacy where you’ll find basic classes on using a computer and the Internet. No signup is required.

Microsoft E-Learning

Microsoft e-Learning provides everything for courses on using Microsoft Office, to courses in SQL server databases, programming in C#, or programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3. To access these resources, you’ll need two things.

A Microsoft ID

If you already have a Microsoft email account (Hotmail, MSN, outlook), you can use that login information, otherwise:

Create a Microsoft Account

  1. Create an Account
  2. Complete the fields to create your live ID/Microsoft Account
  3. Go back to your email account and verify email

Enrollment / Access Code

Next you will need an Enrollment/Access Code. This requires a quick trip to your friendly Anacortes Public Library. Ask at the front desk. Once you have the enrollment code, proceed with the following steps:

Activate E-Learning Courses

  1. Go to learner site, and click Sign In
  2. Select how you want to sign in. In most cases, you will want to choose Microsoft Account. Enter your email and password when prompted
  3. Click the link to redeem your code
  4. Enter the code and your email
  5. Check the box to accept the User Agreement and Click Continue
  6. Fill out the profile information, and click save

Finding & Accessing Courses

Use the Search Box or Browse Tab to find and add courses. Once you've added a course, you can access it by clicking on My Courses and then clicking the hyperlinked name of the course.

Returning Users

  1. Go to learner site
  2. Click the Sign In button on the right of the home page
  3. Enter with your Microsoft Account and password
  4. From My courses, click the course you would like to start or resume
