Every student in the Anacortes School District is automatically a member of the Anacortes Public Library as long as they're enrolled in K-12. Your Library account is your Student ID number, and you do not need a physical library card to checkout books. Click here for FAQs and to find out when your student will have an active Library account if they're new to ASD this year.
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Here at APL, we'll have displays sharing what books are often challenged, and celebrate our freedom to read. Join us on Wednesday, October 4 for a special teen banned books event with our librarian at 2:00 pm, or attend a public program at 6:00 pm with our Community Service Officer, Brent Lindquist to find out why his recent reading of Fahrenheit 451 opened his eyes to the power of access to information for all, followed by a Q&A with our teen and adult librarians.
The library is bringing back our popular Music at the Library program! We are looking for musicians to play soft piano or guitar music on select afternoons at the library. Please contact Trish at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
Join us for a simple yoga practice designed for every body. Great for beginners or anyone looking for a gentle practice. Bring your own yoga mat. Please arrive 5 minutes before class. No admittance once class begins.
If you’re in grades 9 - 12 and interested in writing, please join us for this creative writing workshop. Share ideas, get feedback, and find out what we’re working on. Work on writing for your personal projects, academic goals, or library collaborations, including the possibility of having your writing published and displayed in the library.
