Organics

Customers wanting to start/stop Organics/Yard Waste at your residential location please hit the highlighted link.

Organics is an optional service for our residential customers and restaurants. The service is provided by Waste Management as our contracted vendor. If you need to change the size container of your organics, please email Utility Billing or call us directly at 360.293.1909 and we will contact them to swap that out for you.

Recycle

Recycling is a mandatory fee regardless of use or non use for our residential customers only. Each residence may leave out extra recycling each week so long as it is in an acceptable container for Waste Management to pick up. Please contact them directly with any questions regarding that container. You may also have multiple recycling totes; however, there will be added fees for any extra totes.

If an owner obtains a demolition permit from our Building Department to demolish the home, this is the only time that the fee will be removed. Owner must obtain the permit in order to start this process. To obtain more knowledge about this, please contact Utility Billing at 360.293.1909.

Refuse/Garbage

Customers in need of a missed garbage pickup or change in service size please contact: 360.293.1921.

Garbage is also a mandatory fee regardless of use or non use for our residential customers only. If you have extra garbage that will easily fit into a 32 gallon container you may purchase our "Blue City Garbage Bags". These are available for purchase at City Hall as well as many locations within the City of Anacortes (Safeway, Ace, Sebos, The Market). You purchase the bag, fill it, and leave out with your regular garbage on your given service day.

If you have need for a special haul, please contact 360.293.1921 for arranging that pick up. You must have a Utility Account in order for this service to be provided.
