How You Can Support Your Library
Books, Magazines & DVD
The Anacortes Public Library welcomes your donations of materials in good condition. Some materials will be added to our collection, others will be sold by the Friends of the Anacortes Library in the FriendShop bookstore, with proceeds benefiting the Library. A receipt for tax purposes is available. Donations can be made during our open hours. Appraisal values of donated materials are not provided. Items should be boxed or bagged. Please refer to our Donations Guidelines Document , as changes in what we accept can change from time to time. We no longer accept VHS tapes.
Tax-deductible contributions to the Anacortes Public Library can be made through the Anacortes Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Library, and the Foundation Legacy Endowment Pledge. The opportunity to make a Legacy Pledge is offered to ensure the continued viability of the library as a community asset.
The Endowment Funds provide an investment in the future of the Library through private contributions that enable it to grow through future interest earnings. For information on the Endowment Funds, please call (360) 293-1910 x23.
Information on contributing to the Foundation or Friends of the Library is available at the Library.
Monetary donations are accepted to purchase library materials in memory or in honor of a friend or relative. The Collection Development Department will help you choose appropriate items to honor your loved one. A library memorial plate is placed in each item that is added to the Anacortes Public Library Collection.
Volunteering Makes a Difference!
The Library welcomes volunteers. It is possible to volunteer on a regular basis, or for special projects. Applications are available at the Library. Please consider joining our volunteer team.
