The Parks and Recreation Department seeks to preserve and enhance the quality of life that our residents enjoy by providing quality recreational facilities and opportunities regardless of age, race, sex, wealth and ability.

The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the following:

  • Maintenance of all parks
  • Operation of recreation programs
  • Grand View Cemetery
  • Washington Park
  • Anacortes Community Forest Lands
  • Community Center Rentals
  • City Facilities Maintenance
  • Grounds at City owned facilities
  • Park planning and development
  • Field scheduling

Heart Lake Advisory Committee Meeting - February 2 @ 6pm

The Heart Lake Advisory Committee will review a draft Heart Lake master plan. The public is welcome to attend and participate in this meeting at 6pm at the Senior Activity Center (1701 22nd Street). See more

 
New Geocaching Rules in the Community Forest Lands

The City will be asking geocachers to comply with new regulations for placing caches in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. See more

 
NEW SCULPTURES ON COMMERCIAL AVENUE!

The Anacortes Arts Commission has launched the inaugural Loan Sculpture Exhibition, featuring the work of eleven Northwest artists. All pieces are loaned by the artist for a period of 18 months and all are available for purchase, with a portion of the sales going to the City of Anacortes to help further the mission of the Arts Commission, bringing more art to public places throughout the city. See more
