Councilmember John Archibald has announced his resignation from the City Council effective April 30, 2017.  Interested candidates are sought to fill the remainder of the term which expires December 31, 2017. 

To be eligible for consideration candidates must be a resident of Anacortes with a minimum of one year of residency and be registered to vote. 

 Candidates must submit a letter of interest that describes their interest in becoming a city council member, notes their previous community involvement, and describes the skills that they bring to the position.  Letters are due by noon on Thursday April 27, 2017.

Candidates will be provided the opportunity to address City Council, Mayor Gere, and the community with a prepared five-minute presentation on Monday May 1, 2017 at the City Council meeting.  An appointment by the governing board is expected in early May.
