Emergency response is provided by 15 dedicated career Firefighter/Paramedics and 6 Firefighter/EMT and who have had at least one year experience prior to employment with the Department.
Twenty-one Firefighters are assigned to 24-hour shifts allowing Station 1 to be staffed with up to four individuals every day, Station 2 to be staffed with two crew members on a 24-hour basis and Station 3 with two individuals for 12 hours daily. A minimum of four Firefighter/Paramedics or Firefighter/EMTs are on duty at any given time during a 24 hour period. The administrative staff consists of a Fire Chief, EMS/Training Officer, Fire Marshal, and a secretary. Firefighter/Paramedics and Firefighter/EMTs are assisted by Volunteer Firefighters. Some Volunteers also have Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
All Firefighter/Paramedics are members of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 1537. Recruitment for vacancies within the department is done through the website PublicSafetyTesting.com
