Water Conservation Signs and Hotline:

  You may have noticed the water conservation signs up around Anacortes starting on Earthday. These signs were designed to inform our customers of the condition of our water supply and to promote water conservation throughout the city.  The signs are designed to show the five conditions reflected in the water conservation Ordinance # 2583. The conditions are:

Full Capacity Water Supply is at full capacity.
   
Normal Condition 0: NORMAL
Normal water usage
   
Condition 1 Condition 1: Potential for future drought conditions exist.
   
Condition 2 Condition 2: Drought is highly likely in the immediate future.
   
Condition 3 Condition 3: Drought emergency exists. Mandatory conservation measures go into effect through local ordinance. No lawn watering. No car washing. No driveway rinsing. 10 percent reduction urged for all users.

  • ask large users to reduce and/or modify use constant public awareness campaign
