Contracted crews working for the City of Anacortes will be constructing pedestrian improvements along the north side of 41st Street from H Avenue to M Avenue. Work will include:
·New curb, gutter and sidewalk along the North side of 41st Street
·Widen asphalt driving lane to allow for a new bicycle lane on the North side of 41st Street
·Sidewalk bulb-outs in front of Mt Erie School with pedestrian lights that will flash when pedestrians cross the street
·Storm drainage system to capture all the rain water on the roadway and channel the water into the City’s storm water system

This project will be funded from both City and Washington State Grant funds. The estimated construction cost is $ 177,000. The cost will be funded from:
Washington State Safe Routes to School Grant- $112,800
City Storm Water Fund- $ 63,200
