The City of Anacortes provides fire
protection within the City Municipal boundaries, serving approximately
16,000 residents over 14 square miles. The City also shares and receives
resources through a countywide mutual aid agreement.
Fire suppression services are provided
via three fire stations for the City of Anacortes. Station #1 is located
at 1016 13th Street. A maximum of three Firefighter/Paramedics are on
duty here 24-hours per day. The administrative staff is also located
here. Station #2 is located at 5209 Sunset Drive and is staffed with two
Firefighter/Paramedics 24-hours per day. Station #3 is located at 9029
Molly Lane and is staffed with two Firefighter/Paramedics 12-hours per
day. Volunteers carry pagers and
respond when they are available.
Station 1's firefighting apparatus
consists of: a 2000 American LaFrance Ladder truck 1990 Seagrave Pumper
truck, 1997 Freightliner Rescue truck and a1985 GMC Pumper truck.
Station 2's firefighting apparatus
consists of a 1990 Seagrave Pumper truck. Station 3's firefighting
apparatus consists of a 1989 Seagrave Pumper.
Regardless of location, all
apparatus are called into service when required for an incident and we
rely on assistance by adjoining fire districts and departments when
needed.
