Emergency Medical Services

The Anacortes Fire Department provides emergency response and ambulance services for the City of Anacortes, Fidalgo and Guemes Island under contract with the Skagit County EMS Council and funded by the Medic One Levy. The service area encompasses 85 square miles with a fulltime population of 22,550.

These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through 911.

The Emergency Medical Services Operations are managed by Assistant Chief Dan Harju. The department's 15 career Firefighters are also state certified Paramedics trained to utilize the department's three ambulances as Mobile Intensive Care Units.
