T-Mobile Appeal

This matter involves a denied conditional use application for T-Mobile to construct a wireless communication facility, consisting of a 116-foot monopole with three antennas and an equipment building, on residentially zoned property that is surrounded by a residential neighborhood. Street and Alley Vacation Procedures-Public Hearing

The City Council is placing provisions from state law and local policies into a Comprehensive Street and Alley Vacation Procedures Ordinance. City Council will take action at their regular scheduled meeting on April 7, 2008.

SUPREME COURT CASE BROADCAST ON DECEMBER 5

The City of Anacortes Supreme Court Case 1-80396-0 related to transfer of protection of critical areas within shorelines (Shoreline Master Plan) will be broadcast Wednesday, December 5 on TVW (Channel 23) at the following times:

2:05 am, 10:05am, & 6:05pm
The court case runs approx. 47 minutes in length.

THOMPSON RD/SR 20 Traffic Light Revision October 24, 2007

WSDOT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - A traffic signal at Thompson Road and add right turn pockets will be installed. Delays during the installation of the traffic signal will be minimal.

8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 to 6 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25 - Expect minor delays. Crews will alternate closing the eastbound and westbound lanes and flaggers will direct alternating traffic through the work zone. Crews will install plastic pavement markings and turn on the signal at Thompson Road and SR 20 Wednesday night. Work is weather dependent.

WASHINGTON PARK BOAT LAUNCH NOTICE

After exploring numerous repair/refurbishment options, we will begin repair of the floats at Washington Park.

The floats will be out of the water beginning April 18, and will be returned no later than May 24. The ramp will not be useable on the days the floats are being taken out and returned to the water.  See more

 
NEW FIREFIGHTING UNIT AT MARCH POINT

Following the passage of the EMS levy in November, the Anacortes Fire Department is moving forward with plans to hire two EMTs and three paramedics and train all five as firefighters to staff an ambulance and fire engine at March Point. 2006 EMS Levy

The EMS levy, in part, funds the Paramedic ambulance service throughout Skagit County.
