Road Closure for 6th Street Improvement Project
Contracted crews working on the behalf of the City of Anacortes will begin construction of the City’s 6th Street Improvement Project on Monday, March 8. The work, which is funded by a federal ARRA grant, includes the construction of new curb, gutter, sidewalk, storm drainage, and pavement between I Avenue and K Avenue, and new sidewalk on the south side of the street between K Avenue and O Avenue.
The street will be closed between L Avenue and I Avenue on Tuesday, March 9. A detour moving traffic to 8th Street between those blocks will be established for the duration of the project. The scheduled completion date for the work is May 12.
