The crew WILL be working on Thursday, January 1. The City of Anacortes will not service customers on the following upcoming holidays:
Thursday, December 25, 2008, in observance of Christmas
Monday, January 19, 2009, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.
We are asking residential customers that are normally picked-up on the above holiday’s to hold your garbage and recycling until your next regular service day. At this time you will be able to put out extra garbage and recycling equivalent to your normal service. The Solid Waste Division requests that your extra refuse be placed in a standard garbage can or in plastic garbage bags that are tied off with at least a four inch tag end to be used as a handle. This is for the safety and convenience of our Solid Waste crew. (City of Anacortes pre-paid garbage bags are not required.)
